The Kia EV6 is the embodiment of Kia’s new brand image. After a dramatic transformation with their logo, Kia released the EV6 which is the first dedicated EV from Kia using the E-GMP platform from HMG. This the story of the development process that went behind the EV6.

The people at YOGIYO wanted to create a short film. They wanted to see what kind of fun narrative approach they would be able to take with their brand. We realized how delivery food in Korea can pretty much go anywhere. So we imagined a place that delivery can’t go to, but can it?

요기요 브랜드팀은 단편 영화 형식의 브랜드 영상을 만들기를 원했습니다. 그들은 그들의 브랜드를 어떠한 접근법을 통해 재미있는 이야기로 풀어낼 수 있을지 확인하고 싶어 했습니다. 우리는 스토리를 개발하는 과정에서 한국의 배달 음식이 어디든지 갈 수 있다고 생각했습니다. 그래서 우리는 배달로 갈 수 없는 곳인 우주를 떠올려 보았습니다. 먼 미래에는 더 멀리 더 많은 곳까지 배달이 가능한 그날을 상상해 봅니다.

Zoo’s have given young and old amazing memories, and an educational insight in how wildlife is. However, zoo’s have also created a negative perception. Now imagine a zoo without animals, where would we be? Using the technological support from SKTelecom, we were able to create an idea of allowing people to witness wildlife animals up close in VR. 

동물원이라는 장소는 젊은 사람들과 나이 든 사람들 모두에게 신비한 추억과 야생 동물들에 대한 교육을 제공해왔지만 부정적 인식 또한 만들어냈습니다. 이제 ‘동물이 없는 동물원’을 상상해 보세요. 우리는 어디쯤에 있을까요? SK Telecom의 기술 지원을 통해 우리는 VR로 사람들이 야생 동물을 가까이에서 볼 수 있는 아이디어를 만들었습니다.

Gosphere is a golf wear brand started by designer Kanghyuk, that believes in having a sustainble future. Through Kanghyuk's futuristic vision, we at Luminous produced several projects using dynamic shots, experiential lighting and sound.

환경과 지속가능성을 고려하는 하이엔드 골프웨어 브랜드 ‘고스피어’. Future Classic을 컨셉으로 디자이너 듀오 ‘강혁(Kanghyuk)’의 미래지향적인 아이덴티티를 클래식하게 해석한 2022 컬렉션의 브랜드 필름 입니다. ‘Find New Ergo’를 주제로 한 S/S 시즌 브랜드 런칭 영상에 이어 F/W 영상에서는 본격적으로 행성에 도착한 모델이 시공간을 초월하여 오아시스인 에르고를 찾아가는 여정을 표현했습니다. 앰비언트 사운드와 VFX로 임팩트 있는 무드를, 테서렉스 효과 등으로 역동감 있는 비쥬얼을 연출하였습니다.

In 2022, the team at Hermès reached out to us to produce content revolving around their home-collection. However, due to the tragedy that happened at Itaewon this project was on hold.  A few months later, Hermès re-opened the project. Our challenge was that we were already working on multiple projects of massive scale at the same time. Regardless, we at Luminous was able to produce 3 pieces of content surrounding their home collection and a beautifully performed choreograph. Directed by the ever-so-talented Marcell Wepper and lensed by our close friend Byonghoon Jo we are thrilled to share with you the final outcome of this project.

2022년 에르메스 팀에서 홈 컬렉션을 중심으로 한 콘텐츠를 제작하기 위해 연락이 왔습니다. 하지만 당시 서울에서 일어난 이태원 참사로 인해 이 프로젝트는 잠정 보류되었습니다. 몇 달 후, 에르메스는 프로젝트를 다시 재기했습니다. 우리는 당시 큰 스케일의 프로젝트 여러 개가 이미 동시 진행이 되고 있었고, 추가적인 프로젝트 제작은 꽤나 도전적인 숙제였습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 루미너스는 안무가들의 아름다운 댄스와 에르메스 홈 컬렉션의 제품을 담은 3개의 콘텐츠를 제작해냈습니다. 끊임없이 재능을 발휘하는 마르셀 웨퍼 감독이 연출, 루미너스의 절친한 친구인 조병훈 촬영 감독이 촬영을 맡았습니다. 이번 프로젝트의 최종 결과물을 공유하게 되어 기쁩니다.

In 2022, Dior held it’s very first fashion show at Ewha Womans University’s ECC. Dior’s Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri is known for her feminist designs and beliefs, as a result, Ewha’s ECC was a perfect location to carry out her vision. ECC was designed by French architect Dominique Perrault who is also known for designing the French National Library. The fashion show was inspired by skateparks as the runway sent young female skateboarders down a slope before the models walked the runway. The fashion show was special because it was also the beginning of a partnership with the university to create a mentorship program with Dior. For this show, our team was responsible for all the photography content that was coming out of the show. Rather than past shows, where photographers would be flown in from different parts of the world, the Dior show was special because the photographers were all locally sourced talent to provide a stunning look of “punk overtones” to the Dior collection.

2022년, 디올은 이화여자대학교 ECC에서 대학교에서는 최초로 패션쇼를 열었습니다. 디올의 크리에이티브 디렉터인 ‘마리아 그라치아 치우리(Maria Grazia Chiuri)’는 페미니스트적 디자인과 신념으로 유명하며 이화여대의 ECC는 그녀의 비전을 수행하기에 완벽한 장소였습니다. 또한 프랑스 국립 도서관을 설계한 것으로도 유명한 프랑스 건축가 ‘도미니크 페로(Dominique Perrault)’가 ECC를 설계하기도 했습니다. 이번 디올의 ‘2022 가을 패션쇼’는 스케이트보드 파크에서 영감을 얻었으며, 모델들이 런웨이를 시작하기 전 젊은 여성 스케이트 보더들이 런웨이 무대에 디자인된 비탈길로 내려오며 퍼포먼스를 선보였습니다. 이 패션쇼는 한국의 대학과 디올이 함께 멘토십 프로그램을 만들기 위한 파트너십의 시작이기도 했기 때문에 더욱 특별했습니다. 루미너스 팀은 이번 디올 패션쇼에서 제작돼야 하는 대부분의 포토그래피 콘텐츠를 총괄 담당했습니다. 이번 쇼가 또 특별했던 이유는, 포토그래퍼들이 작업을 위해 세계 여러 지역에서 입국했던 과거의 쇼와 달리, 이번에는 ‘펑크 오버톤’이 가미된 컬렉션의 멋진 이미지를 디올에 제공하기 위해 한국의 현지 포토그래퍼들이 대거 참여했기 때문입니다.

Bureau Future is a French video production company that was started by Bureau Betak, a French event company that is responsible for fashion shows and events for some of the biggest brands in the world. In 2022, Bureau Future reached out to us at Luminous to inquire about production services for Gucci’s fashion show that was preparing to happen in Seoul. We were thrilled by this opportunity and provided production services for the live event and post production surrounding the show. 

‘뷰로 퓨처(Bureau Future)’는 프랑스의 영상 제작사로, 세계에서 가장 큰 브랜드들의 패션쇼와 행사를 담당하는 프랑스의 유명한 이벤트 운영사인 ‘뷰로 베탁(Bureau Betak)’에 의해 시작되었습니다. 2022년, 뷰로 퓨처는 서울 경복궁에서 개최되는 Gucci(구찌)의 ‘2024 쿠르즈 패션쇼’를 위해 루미너스에 컨택을 하였고, 우리는 이 흥미로운 기회를 통해 글로벌로 생중계되는 패션쇼의 라이브 스트리밍, 기타 파생 콘텐츠 촬영 및 제작 진행, 그리고 다양한 포맷의 포스트 프로덕션을 진행하였습니다.

In 2019, we had the privilege to work with Louis Vuitton to produce the photography content surrounding a repeat show of the Cruise collection at an airport hangar at Incheon airport. Fast forward to 2023, Louis Vuitton made the decision to hold it’s first ever Pre-Fall fashion show in Seoul. It’s the first time Louis Vuitton has held a pre-fall show. This time the mission was a bit different from the previous show. Our goal was to produce video content surrounding the show, produce the live-video of the show as well as the post production for all the content. Executing this was no easy task as we had multiple projects and teams running around simultaneously. Even with several sleepless weeks, difficult weather, and other factors, our team at Luminous was able to deliver the project to a happy Louis Vuitton team. 

지난 2019년 루미너스는 루이 비통과 함께 인천 공항의 비행기 격납고에서 진행된 ‘루이 비통 크루즈 2020 서울 스핀오프 쇼’의 리피트 쇼의 콘텐츠를 제작할 수 있는 특별한 기회를 가졌습니다. 그 후 2023년, 루이 비통은 서울에서 ‘2023 프리-폴 패션쇼’를 개최하기로 결정했습니다. 루이 비통이 프리폴 패션쇼를 개최하는 것은 이번이 처음입니다. 이번 프로젝트는 이전의 쇼와는 조금 달랐는데, 우리의 미션은 패션쇼와 관계된 영상 및 사진 콘텐츠 제작, 전 세계로 실시간 송출되는 라이브 중계 세팅, 그 외 모든 콘텐츠에 대한 포스트 프로덕션을 진행하는 것이었습니다. 여러 팀이 세팅되어 여러 개의 콘텐츠를 동시간대에 제작해야 하는 프로젝트였기에 이 작업을 수행하는 것은 쉽지만은 않았습니다. 몇 주 동안 잠 못 이뤘던 시간, 역경의 날씨, 그 외에도 여러 어려운 상황들을 잘 극복하여 루이 비통 팀과 루미너스 팀 모두 행복하게 프로젝트를 마무리 할 수 있었습니다.

In 2022, our friends at Kia Worldwide reached out to us in regards to their new flagship EV. This time, we wanted to take things a bit differently. Even before the RFP was received we had several creative discussions in regards to how the new EV should be perceived. All starting with the slogan ‘Inspiration Larger than Life’ we began to create a strategic content plan revolving around the release of this new EV. Starting with the unveil of the design, continuing with a product-driven USP film, and ending it with a more human driven story behind the development of the EV9, the team at Luminous was able to create something magical. We shot in the vibrant city of Seoul, sunny Southern California, and the majestical country of Chile. This project was definitely something that will always be remembered by our team. 

2022년, 기아 월드 와이드로부터 새롭게 추진 중인 플래그십 EV에 대해 연락을 받았습니다. 이번에는 이전의 기아 프로젝트와는 조금 다르게 접근해 보고 싶었습니다. 우리는 RFP를 받기 전부터 기아의 새로운 EV와 관련하여 내부적으로 많은 크리에이티브 아이디어들을 논의했습니다. 우리는 ‘Inspiration Larger than Life(삶 그 이상의 영감)’라는 슬로건을 탄생시켰습니다. 그리고 기아의 새로운 전기차인 EV9을 위한 콘텐츠 전략을 세우기 시작했습니다. 디자인 언베일 영상을 시작으로, 제품 중심의 USP 영상, 주행 영상, 그리고 EV9 개발 뒤에 숨겨진 사람들의 스토리가 담긴 다큐멘터리 시리즈까지. 루미너스 팀은 캠페인 영상 기획부터 최종 아웃풋이 릴리즈 되기까지 길고도 긴 여정을 멋지게 마무리했습니다. 활기찬 에너지의 서울, 햇살이 따스하게 내리쬐는 남부 캘리포니아, 그리고 장엄한 풍경이 펼쳐지는 나라인 칠레에서의 촬영은 우리에게 오래도록 기억에 남을 프로젝트가 될 것입니다.
